Curating Performance And Culture Through Extraordinary Hiring (60 minutes) |
The engineers who become CEO do so because they’re artists of technology. The marketers because they’re sculptors of identity. The finance guys because they’re maestros of money, conductors of cash. Recruiting leads when they are Curators of people, creating outstanding business performances. Sure, we’re charged with finding the superstars—every element within an organization ideally kicks ass. But it’s how we assemble those components that makes the difference: we should strive to create organizations in harmony, where everyone is allowed to show their creativity, be themselves, feel confident and motivated. We should strive to challenge people, though in a way that enthuses, excites, and provides an intense sense of joy and purpose. What we do is art. And when we assemble the right elements—each of them critically important—in the right way, we reveal new truths for ourselves, and our companies. The world’s most successful companies are reflections of our deepest insights and greatest potential. And those compositions, those experiences, are not accidental. And the performance that follows is a direct outcome of the Curator’s role.

Innovation for Digital Talent Acquisition: From Lab Dreams to Real Solutions (60 minutes) |
When it comes to innovation in the talent acquisition space, most talks center on big picture strategy development for social and mobile focusing on topics such as online employer reputation, social candidate sourcing, conversation dynamics, and text communications – but there is a huge unmet need in the market for brass tacks social/mobile tools that get beyond the conversation. The fact that so much company data and content already exists on the web and in places like ATS systems, combined with all of the “resume-type” data that already exists online about potential candidates and potential referrals within their social graph, opens up a world of possibility for smarter, personalized, and instantly more relevant digital talent acquisition solutions. During this session we won’t simply talk blue sky concepts dreamed up in our Innovation LabHDx, we will dig into live examples and prototype demos, and see results from real companies leveraging social data in innovative ways. You will walk away energized with ideas and specific tools to apply business-driven innovation to your social recruiting strategy. Key concepts See how company Facebook pages are rivaling their careers site via the creation of personalized, localized, referral enabling, and information-packed Custom Tabs – incorporating jobs, events, videos and more See how to use Twitter in unconventional yet effective ways to educate and inform candidates through a live Twitter Q&A interface on your existing career site Learn about Mobile adoption focused specifically on the convergence of Mobile and Social Create an engaging “local” mobile experience by leveraging the GPS in smartphones and location based services such as Foursquare

With today’s stiff competition to hire the top talent from campus, students can have a difficult time differentiating your brand and value proposition from your competitors. How can social media make a difference with your on-campus efforts? How can it help differentiate your brand and give you a competitive advantage? Location-Based Mobile Recruiting (60 minutes) |

Mobile check-in services are all the rage in marketing. Recruiting can benefit from these “geo-social” mobile applications as well. Job posting, recruiting, and employment branding can all be done with location-based mobile services. Recruiting industry veteran, Craig Fisher (@fishdogs), demonstrates innovative ways to use proximity mobile apps such as Foursquare, Gowalla, and Facebook Places to find and attract talent, and build employer brand awareness. Behind The Wall with Social Recruiting (60 minutes) |
Like many trends before it, Recruiting has jumped on the social media bandwagon. According to NetPropsex’s 2010 Social Media Report, HR and Recruiting ranks 6th out of 50 in social media use by industry. Sounds good, but where’s the social? In the process of getting social, recruiting is trending more towards talk then collaborate. We’re creating communities, but only hearing ourselves speak. We’re socializing sourcing, but not the rest of the process. Is it even possible to make recruiting truly social? Come discuss the real state of social recruiting and prove us wrong. Or not.
